Who am I?
I am a student who loves gaming and just ascended to the glorious PCMR this week. I mainly play CS:GO, Insurgency, a bit of MC, Civ. 5, and a few other games. I enjoy FPS games, RPGs, strategy games, and survival games. I also enjoy all things Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and the Hobbit. Other things I enjoy are movies and reading. Favorite movies include LOTR (all of them), SW (all of them), Interstellar, Indiana Jones, and Jurassic Park. Favorite books include LOTR, Hobbit, Hound of the Baskervilles, The Mysterious Island, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Beowulf, the Iliad/Odyssey, Harry Potter, and many, many others.
Why do I like video games?
Books and Movies things take your mind to a different place where anything is possible. Video games transport you to that place, but also allow you to interact with it. Many also involve critical thinking. The ability to plan ahead but also prepare for a change in environment around you. Many others involve quick thinking to react to sudden changes. But they all put you somewhere else where you could not normally go.
What is Ark: Survival Evolved?
Ark: Survival Evolved is an open world survival game where you craft stuff and tame dinosaurs. You start with nothing and must build tools and a house. It is much more in depth than games like Vanilla Minecraft because things like thirst, weight, endurance, and temperature all play major factors in Ark where they are nonexistent in other games. Another interesting feature is the dinosaurs. Many are hostile, while others neutral, and still others passive. Each different kind of dinosaur (carnivore, omnivore, and herbivore) all require a different kind of food to tame them. Then there is crafting. To be able to craft anything, one must first learn the crafting engram. Once you have done that, you can build many things from tools to traps to walls. You can even build things like refrigerators and lamps. Also, you can put a platform on a flying dino and build a building on top of that. There is also a fun PvP aspect of this game where you can go raid/grief other people’s bases.
Why do I want this game?
I want this game because it is right up my alley. Also, one of my friends has Ark. Whenever we hang out, we have to trade off who gets to play every so often. With this, we could both play and not even have to be in the same room.
Why should you give me this game?
I can’t afford it right now seeing as I just built my PC. Also, because of you wonderful gifter, I will have my own copy of the game to play with my friend. This will also top off my new PC. This game is extremely fun and I will enjoy it immensely.
