My fiancé and I found a nice apartment (higher end) in a great location. We placed a hold on it a month before tenants moved out. We had to wait another month to see it before it was ready.
We went by yesterday to view it and one wall had a giant obvious scuff mark, the refrigerator has heavy damage on the inside, the microwave is cracked, the false wood cabinets are heavily frayed, a piece of frame on the windows are broken, there is rust on the laundry room shelves, and the place is littered with carpet beetles after "putting in new carpet."
They don't seem very hell bent on repairs other than removing the carpet beetles and MAYBE the fridge. The manager said she already did a walkthrough but was surprised when I mentioned what we saw, like she did a walkthrough with her eyes closed and deemed it ready for living.
This place is safe, in a great location, walls are thick and we have a garage. The price very competitive and will not find anything like this elsewhere. But they seem to just not care. We already put a deposit down, ran our credit, got approved for the apps and scheduled the power and gas company to come by on move in day.
Any advice?
