Last month we had ticket that came in. It was a short little note from someone at site Lingo that basically said,
The refrigerator in Customer Service needs to be defrosted.
Say what? The words made sense but the sentence....
Then I get a chat message from $Coworker
Coworker: Did you see Ticket 123456?
Me: Looking at it now. Are they serious?
Coworker: ROFL! No idea!
This discussion was repeated three or four times. Everyone was a combination of bemused and amused.
For lack of a better idea , I sent The Ticket to Lingo's local support people.... who promptly assigned it to the local head of IT. I never found out his reaction to it.
Meanwhile word about The Ticket spread. (It helps that my coworkers are located at different sites).
Coworker1: Building Services is in stitches about that Ticket.
Coworker2: I showed it to the regional manager here. He wants a screenshot!
Finally someone went to discuss The Ticket with the submitter. When they returned they said,
False alarm. User says they were just messing with us.
Yeah, right. Regardless, the joke is on them. They are now known throughout the company as the people who don't know how to thaw their own refrigerator.
TL;DR: IT doesn't handle refrigerator issues...but we love it when you think we do!
