I transported a fridge on its side and plugged it in for an hour. Will placing it upright for 2-3 hours save it? appliancerepair

We bought a GE Hotpoint refrigerator and transported it on its side, just before learning that you're generally not supposed to place fridges on their sides. We plugged it in for about an hour before realizing our mistake and noticing that the fridge was not cold. I have read that if you place a fridge on its side, it might still be ok if you place it upright for 2-3 hours or so. Given that we already plugged it in for an hour, will placing it upright still fix the problem?
