I'm 25, 190lbs; 5'6. From California. I've had this problem for about over a year maybe longer. Everyday I've had to spit out phlegm and I know this isn't normal. When I get sick especially I end up spitting out three times as much phlegm out. I was just sick recently from inhaling dust off a dusty refrigerator I was helping move. That caused my throat to be super dry and then a week later I got a cold and my throat was killing me. I had so much phlegm I was spitting it out every 30 min. I've come down from being sick, but still have a dry cough and am still having to spit phlegm. In the morning it's worse. I live in the South Bay and with the Santa Rosa fires; the smoke hasn't helped my throat at all. The smoke has seemed to go away for the most part.
What can be the problem? My diet has been pretty average; I've stopped consuming most dairy products (since I've heard that's a main cause) except for cheese along with my meals but this minimal.
