Today I saw the bike fall meme again and it really reminded me of BPD mum.
BPD mum has always had a nasty habit of scapegoating my dad (the sole breadwinner of the family) for everything that goes wrong.
- Refrigerator spoiled? Not me or my careless handling, definitely your dad's sabotage.
- Someone got a stomachache? Your dad put stuff in their food.
- Blackout? Why isn't your dad fixing it? And besides, he probably did it.
You get the idea. She has blamed him on multiple occasions for poisoning her (supposedly by changing the number on her medicine prescription from 1 tablet to 2) and told everyone she knows about how horrible/ugly/filthy/evil he is amongst other things. At home she would always curse him behind his back and wish for him to die so she can profit off of his work earnings (she still does).
He has totally cut contact with her apart from basic household logistics, allowing her to sleep in her hovel of a room (which she refuses to clean, blaming him for the result of her own sorry ass laziness). Instead of solving the problem by cleaning like any ordinary person should, she repeatedly calls for her mother to come back to clean it for her.
I never understood how a man could get involved with such a toxic woman. My father has always avoided the topic when I brought it up. I have never told anyone about this, primarily because BPD mum has always told me about how I 'cannot tell people outside' and how 'people outside are evil'.
It's taken me way too long to start socializing to realize that she has always been the problem. I never understood why dad has always given her leeway to demolish his name to her acquaintances and family. I'm not even sure what I meant to say by creating this topic.. I guess I just needed to get two decades' worth of shit off my chest
