I own a GE side by side fridge/freezer. I've encountered issues with the heating element not doing its job. The back wall ices over, the water line freezes and then the refrigerator isn't cold enough and food spoils in the fridge.
I've replaced the heating element, the first time I went with a double element, which worked for months. Then it happened again, so I went back to the original element part number. But now I have to disassemble my freezer and thaw it out with two hair dryers.
Any advice on what might be causing this? I'm not sure that it's the elements anymore.
