Just a n00by question about lard. castiron

I seasoned a new Lodge skillet with lard four times today, and I'm wondering if it's beneficial to actually cook food in said lard as well, instead of using the usual bacon grease / vegetable oil - for instance, would be good with the lamb chops I have in the refrigerator? I have a big block of lard that I'd like to use up, but I can't imagine I'd ever use it all for seasoning.

Cheers.
