New homeowner here. Refrigerator light melted HomeImprovement

Not sure if this is the right place to post, but we're newbies to owning a home and taking care of the appliances that come with it.

Our fridge light gets really hot and we noticed that the things on the top shelf weren't getting cold and going bad.

Today we opened the fridge to see the lightbulb melted the top, and the metal at the bottom of the bulb was kind of bent, so the bulb was hanging on kind of lopsided. My SO and I both burnt our fingers by stupidly touching the bulb. I put on some power tool gloves and took it out.

Will we be ok to put in a different light bulb or have we damaged the wiring/socket too much? I don't believe they left us the owners manual to the fridge, but am looking for it online. It's a 2003ish Fridgeaire
