What is the minimum wire gauge I can get away with for a DIY lamp if I plan to use an LED bulb of no more than ~10W?
Rather than toss out a 10ft+ length of refrigerator copper tubing (1/4”), I thought I’d try to make something like this (http://ift.tt/1KvoNkH), a copper coil lamp. Trouble being the interior diameter of the copper tubing is only ~3/8” leaving no room for standard 18 gauge lamp wire. 22 gauge (normally for speakers?), however, fits great! My plan was to use an LED bulb anyway, so I’m trying to figure out if the current draw from something like a 10W LED bulb will fry it or be fine.
Welcome all thoughts and help!
