So when we first saw our apartment, there was an a/c unit in the living room, we figured we would have an air conditioning unit somewhere. Now he's telling us that he wants $500 to keep the a/c unit in the living room because apparently it belongs to an ex-tenant that now wants it back. Does he the right to take the unit back? Considering he has left for in apartment for more than 5 months.
Or is it possible that our landlord is trying to be greedy and take the a/c unit that no one wants and force us to pay for it? We also pay for our own electricity so I don't see how it is a problem for him. Isn't this an amenity to the apartment like a refrigerator or stove?
