How to tell if solenoid valve is the problem with ice maker? fixit

I've been having problems with my ice maker (ice and water in the door type refrigerator). The water flows for approx 7 seconds during each fill cycle but very little water comes out (only enough for 2 ice cubes).

I'm hoping someone can help me determine if it's the solenoid not fully opening so I can get a new one. The water in the door comes out just fine when the paddle is depressed.
