I [21 M] feel stranded in a foreign country. relationships

Hi, I'm 21/M and in a foreign (Asian) country for a sort of internship. It's not really a formal thing, I'm not like a regular payroll worker or anything, but I was offered the opportunity to come here and get some working experience so I thought it'd be great.

It was initially mentioned to me by my dad, as he works in the company in a relatively high position, and planning started about a year ago. I entered the country a week ago.

It's important to keep in mind, while reading this, that all of this was supposed to be set up and preplanned but people didn't do what they were supposed to here.

I was at a hotel with my father at first, and after two days moved into an apartment that was (supposed to) be set up for my month and a half long stay. I got in it to find nothing was set up; power, water, refrigerator not there, wifi, etc. Obviously, it jolted me a bit, but I worked through it and got power and water going.

I find out that night, after people from my office who were helping me get set up had left, I had no hot water or wifi. Skip a couple days forward I now have hot water, and they tried to ask my neighbor if we could just leech their wifi while I was here. No go, so I'm probably still two days out from that.

As far as work goes I do literally nothing. I have toured our facilities probably 3 times, answered a couple of questions about emails received in English, and that's it. The rest of the day I browse reddit, read, etc.

Currently, I've been in the office for over 5 hours and I haven't been given anything to do (and yes, I have asked for work).

Basically, I feel like I'm somewhat dropped here. I don't expect the world to stop for me or anything, but I think having an expectation that things would be set up and I would have things to do at work (both are things I was told to expect) are fair.

I expressed this to my dad, as well as my willingness to give it some more time, but I'm kind of at a loss for how to make things better for myself. At this point, I'm wanting to make my return as soon as I (politely) can.

Other tidbits of info; Not really close to the city. I have looked at forums/reddit/etc for other English speakers.

TL;DR: Young guy goes to foreign country for work experience, has no work to do and things are not set up as I was told they would be. Unsure of what to do.
