They are wanting to meet with me to discuss my assets in a court of law.
I worked on credit counseling for a bit and if I remember correctly they are required to provide me with an original copy of the debt owed and the nature of the debt or the case is thrown out.
Is this true? Is this a tactic I should use? My assets are limited to my car, which I'm still paying my parents for. Everything of value other than clothes or books are owned by my husband. (We are not legally married and common law marriages do not apply to gay couples in Utah...plus I don't think we've lived together long enough [6yrs]) Because we purchased them at rent a center he has a certificate of ownership for our tv, washer dryer, refrigerator, etc.
