[PA] Refrigerator making high-pitched ringing, induces headaches - landlords claim I'm lying. What to do? legaladvice

Philadelphia, PA

I moved into a new apartment last week. There are a few problems with it but the main one is the refrigerator. Every time it's 'running', it makes this loud, high pitched ringing noise. I try to unplug and replug it, and the ringing stops and it runs normally for a while, then I can hear a 'click' and the ringing starts again. I tried to find the source of the ringing but could not.

This goes on for hours at a time every single day. It's giving me headaches. I asked the LL to do something about it. They had a maintenance worker come in, who claimed that there was no ringing sound and implied that I just said so because I want a new fridge. I told them that the fridge works fine except for this ringing. They said to just deal with it. It may be possible that they cannot hear it because the maintenance workers were older (seemed mid-40s) whereas I'm in my mid 20s and I know that certain high pitched sounds get harder to hear as you age.

This is interfering with my ability to peacefully exist in the place I'm living. It's constant ringing in my ears for hours on end due to some faulty part of an appliance owned by the rental unit; shouldn't they be obligated to do something about it? What can I do?

edit: I don't have tinnitus and I'm not imagining things. I can pinpoint it to the fridge, pinpoint the general area of the fridge it's coming from, just can't open the back panel and wouldn't even know how to go about fixing it.
