3 Step Food Prep TheRedPill

I don't care who you are, or are working on becoming, if you are not already doing so, you should be food prepping.

Most of us aren't teanagers anymore, mom doesn't cook our meals, and if you're eating fast food/take out, all the time, my bet is you'r paying for it. Both in excess expense, risk of foodborne illness, and most importantly, overall opportunity for optimum health.

If your steady at the gym and are already on top of healthy eating as a necessity, good for you, proceed no further. For everyone else I'm here to tell you this is just as important as getting your shit together in other areas of your life. It is a big part of your health and most of us are too busy to give it the priority it deserves.

If you are already rich, and can afford to eat healthy choices "out" frequently, or can afford hire a personal chef, you are the exception, goodbye, this isn't for you either.

For everyone else, it doesn't matter if you're lifting or not, you should be able to feed yourself 3 meals a day on a consistent schedule, all of which are selected from healthy eating options, and are prepared by you, your partner, or both.

I'm not talking about making canned soup or a ready bake pizza, that's not real food. If you are making healthy food choices, it doesn't come in a ready made, frozen box. And if you are trying to tell me Whole Foods, organic, vegan, gluten free, pizza is healthy, your an idiot.

First, identify your healthy eating options. I'm not here to pick your diet, but you should be on one. There should be regulation as to what is "ok" and "not ok" to be consumed as your food, and at this time, there are many consumables on the "food market", that are unfit for a healthy lifestyle and should be strictly avoided.

This level of regulation is different for all of us, the elimination of pre prepared foods, for example, should be a goal of achievement for all, but easier for some than others, because of socio economic means. Specifically, how frequently you can afford to eat out/healthy option take out, and how much free time you have from work and other obligations that can be spent on pre preparing meals and self providing your nutrition needs.

I understand this is asking too much of some of you, but it's good to have things to work towards. It's like working out, most of us have room for improvement, and if you're a beginner, it doesn't mean you shouldn't start somewhere.

Second step, make time. Shopping for food, stocking a refrigerator, and having pre prepared food, ready to eat, takes lots of time. So, get off your video game, or ditch a date once a week, in order to make sure these things are taken care of ahead of the time you are expecting to eat, so that you can avoid the anxiety and "feelings" that come along with being "hungry".

Third, enjoy yourself. If you can successfully provide yourself a strict, nutritious, diet of diverse foods, that are healthy eating options, with few and short durations of feeling "hungry", I promise you that you will, A. feel better, B. get better results from exercise you do get, even if it's only walking back and forth from the fridge to the Xbox and around the office, C. you will get sick less frequently and be less vulnerable to infection. D. to the best of your ability, exploit your body for optimum health and the enjoyments that come with it.

Hunger triggers a stress response, if you can quickly suppress this anxiety, reminding you to eat throughout the day to sustain your energy consumption, and consume a healthy eating option in order to resupply this energy, your body will reward you for it.

Your general level of anxiety throughout the day will be lowered and you will have done a better job of maximizing your workout, or sedentary lifestyle that you lead.

This is one of the very few things you actually have control of over in your life, enjoy it. And this is why having ready made food on hand throughout the day is important. Food prepping is important.
