It doesn't happen often, but sometimes we'll defrost meat in a ziplock bag and my boyfriend refuses to use it if it's been in the refrigerator for 3 days because he says it's gone bad irregardless of sight or smell.
I personally don't smell anything wrong with the chicken, and have never heard of something like that, but I grew up with a mom who was much laxer about such things while his mother was militant so my standards may not be normal.
It bothers me when we throw out what looks to me like perfectly good meat, but could there be nasty critters I'm just not spotting?
