You have been found guilty of a crime that you did not commit, and as your punishment, you have been sentenced to a lifetime of exile. Before you are sent on your way, you are given the option to bring someone with you to exile. However, by exercising this option, another person will be forced to live the rest of their lifetime in exile.
The island is in the middle of the ocean. It has enough resources to keep you alive until you die of old age. There will be a small house consisting of a bedroom (a queen size bed), a kitchen (a sink with fresh water, a refrigerator, and an oven), and a bathroom (a toilet and a shower). It will be impossible for anyone to rescue you or for you to escape on your own. There will be no means of communication with the outside world. The island has no natives, nor will there be any other prisoners other than yourself and your exile partner (should you choose to select one).
If you elect to bring someone with you, you can pick any human on Earth, but they will be aware of the choice that you made.
Would you rather deal with a lifetime of isolation on your own, or doom someone else to the same fate to give yourself company? As a bonus question, who would you pick as your exile partner, knowing that it can be any human you want?
