We just bought our first house which came with brand new appliances. Within a few hours of moving in, we noticed that the Frigidaire refrigerator makes an extremely annoying high pitched noise. Our main living area is right next to the kitchen, and the noise is loud enough to be disruptive when we're watching movies, reading, etc.
I narrowed down the source and it's coming from the compressor (Panasonic R134a). In the video below, you can see that when I "mute" the compressor with my hand, the sound goes away.
What can I do about this? Is there a safe padding/insulation that would mute the compressor? Is this a product defect and would it be covered under warranty since the fridge is brand new?
