I hear that a freezer and refrigerator is bad because it creates condensation and can damage the products, and that they should be kept in a cool, dry place.
I know vitamin C degrades in Soylent for example, but it mostly remains good and edible after the expiration date. If a person wanted to keep 10 years or more supply of food and supplements (just in case of the apocalypse or economic collapse or global warming occurring) then what would be the best conditions to keep the food/supplements in so that it doesn't degrade or lose its goodness? Perhaps a large freezer with low humidity, or a separate, cool room with a thermostat set to a certain level and a dehumidifier?
What would the ideal temperature/humidity level be for maximum preservation?
