refrigerator no longer cools sufficiently, what can i do to fix this? fixit

my fridge was purchased 6 years ago, ill update the model no and anything specific tomrrow

on xmas, a large piece of ham was put in the fridge, i think the motor struggled to reach the thermostat level because of the mass of the ham.

I realised after 2 days that ice wasn't freezing, milk was going bad. so i took the ham out, but still the fridge wont cool sufficiently.

Everything from the fridge was removed, power turned off for several hours. a full clean of the seals and where the engine (not sure what youd call it) had a dusty vent, it was unscrewed and all dust removed.

im testing this with a small amount of water to freeze, but its not freezing at all.

i think we may have pushed the motor too hard and now its gone, not sure what i can do about it other than buying a new fridge, im not interested in getting a professional out here to fix it because i may as well just buy a new fridge.

hoping someone can point me some simple things i can do to get it working again or what the problem could be.
