In honor of SHARK WEEK ~ has any Redditor ever have a real shark encounter? Tell us your shark tale ! [serious]. I will share my two shark tales with Reddit.... self

1. I have encountered, I think it was called a nurse shark, in St. Thomas while snorkeling in an area called sea turtle cove. I was told it was harmless and I hope that was the truth It swam right underneath me. Truth be told I was more nervous about the giant refrigerator size sea turtle I was swimming amongst!!

   1. i did some deep(ish) sea fishing with hubby (was always sea sick) and 2 kids several times last summer in the middle keys with a large group. The crew kept chumming up thr waters to attract fish and they said its not unusual for it to attract sharks. That being said, a few times my line just snapped clean off. Crew told me it was most probably a shark that was eating my bait and snapping my line. WOW. i didnt see the damn thing but it was stealing my line!
