Article VO3-03A1: Open Circuit Traffic Camera at (Redacted) St + Police Radio Transmission 11:19PM

The footage displays a suburban cul-de-sac with a curved row of middle to upper class homes. There is a wrecked truck, seemingly collided with another car, debris from the collision spread across the street. There seems to be a small fire emitting light from the living room window of one of the homes. Another house has an open front door and what appears to be blood splattered against the door frame. There are no signs of life on screen.

At 11:19:48PM, a police squad car drives quickly into camera range. The squad car mounts the curb and comes to a quick halt on the lawn of a white, two-story house. An officer exits the car and is registered as PO Davidson. Davidson rushes from his squad car to the home. His police radio is still locked in broadcast mode per Protocol 04-E11 and transmits all audio.

PO D: "(Redacted)! (Redacted), sweetie!"

PO Davidson shouts and draws his sidearm as he runs into the home. There is no video record of the events in the home, but audio continues to transmit from PO Davidson's radio.

PO D: "(Redacted), where are you baby? Do you have (Redacted)?"

There is a loud shuffling noise and what seems to be a slight commotion in the home.

PO D: "Baby, is that you?"

A loud series of footsteps can be heard rapidly moving through the home. It sounds as though PO Davidson is running up stairs. Davidson's breathing is haggard and urgent.

PO D: "(Redacted), I'm here, sweetie. I'm--"

PO Davidson abruptly stops and there is a slight shuffling sound registered on his radio. His breathing grows even more erratic.

PO D: "No... no, (Redacted). Please... oh sweetie, please stop."

There are more shuffling noises that grow louder and quicker. PO Davidson can be heard crying out before 7 shots are fired in a short time. After the gunshots, there is silence for approximately 0:00:15, then PO Davidson begins to cry and a thud is heard. The crying continues for approximately 0:14:30.

Article VO3-03B1: Secure Headset Feed: Sparrow 12:03AM

Camera feed from Pt Sparrow registers a dark road with woods and houses on each side. There is the sound of a large engine and the camera feed is a little shaky. Pt Sparrow's visual feed pans slightly, and it becomes clear Sparrow is driving a bus. Pt Sparrow then quickly turns right and Lt Hawk is standing by her side, her hand on her shoulder.

Lt H: "ETA, private?"

Pt S: "5 to 10 minutes, mum. Maybe less."

Article VO3-03B2: Secure Headset Feed: Hawk 12:03AM

Lt Hawk turns from Pt Sparrow and heads down the narrow isle of the bus. Scattered about the seats are the 8 juvenile patients from the hospital, as well as N Cruz and N Simmons. There are 3 other hospital staff, including Dr Pavell, as well as 4 other adult patients from the hospital. Pt Owl is in the last seat in the back left of the bus, seeming to check and clean his SRS rifle. PO Crowe is sitting in the seat opposite Dr Pavell and one of the juvenile patients. Lt Hawk approaches Crowe and Pavell.

Lt H: "What's your name, officer?"

PO C: "(Redacted) Crowe."

Lt H: "You did a hell of a job getting these people out, Crowe."

Dr P: "We'd be dead if it wasn't for him."

PO C: "I'm not going to lie, this disease or whatever it is scares the shit out of me. But I was just doing my job. Protect and serve, right?"

Dr P: "Yes, this outbreak is like nothing I've ever seen or even heard of. Ma'am, do you know what's going on?"

Lt H: "I'm afraid our information is very limited, and also very classified."

PO C: "You're not regular military. I was Marine Corps. Those are nice P90's, but I've never seen weapons or gear like that as standard issue. Who do you work for?"

Lt H: "Also classified."

PO Crowe does not verbally respond, but his expression does show signs of dissent.

Dr P: "Very well, at least tell us where you're taking us?"

Lt H: "Of course. We're headed to the grocery store on the south side of town. My team established a safe zone on site. We'll drop you off there."

Lt Hawk turns from PO Crowe and Dr Pavell to return to the front of the bus. Within approximately 0:03:40 the bus begins to pull up to a large parking lot. The lot leads up to a large Fresh Choices Grocery store with a barricade of parked cars surrounding both entrances. The bus pulls up to the barricade. Lt Hawk turns to address the bus of survivors.

Lt H: "Alright everyone, I want you to exit the bus in an orderly fashion. Pt Sparrow will lead you into the store."

Article VO3-03B3: Secure Headset Feed: Sparrow 12:07AM

Pt Sparrow proceeds to lead the survivors out of the bus and helps them scale the barricade of cars and trucks. Pt Owl leads up the rear and assists the ailing patients. The survivors begin to scale the barricade and are greeted by Pt Eagle who is standing guard at the large glass doors. Pt Sparrow passes Pt Eagle, the two nodding to each other, and she then heads into the store. The store is scattered with survivors huddled together in small groups. The lights are dimmed or turned off in much of the store. The survivors all immediately turn to stare with scared and hesitant expressions at the FRT members and the newly arriving survivors. Dr Pavell and N Cruz rush over to one survivor who seems severely injured on his right leg. Pt Sparrow soon joins them.

Dr P: "Cruz, go to the pharmaceutical section and bring back gauze, alcohol, and whatever we can use as a brace. Also, any Ibuprofen you can find."

N Cruz nods and dashes off down a dark isle in the store and out of camera range. N Simmons joins him. Dr Pavell proceeds to apply pressure on the survivors wounded leg as the victim convulses slightly from the pain.

Pt S: "I admire your dedication, Dr."

Dr P: "I didn't become a doctor in order to let people suffer. It's not so much dedication as it is a sense of obligation."

Pt S: "Right, well I'll tell ya' this much Doc, it's not a sentiment I share."

Dr P: "And yet here you are, helping these people."

Pt S: "We all have our reasons."

Article VO3-03B4: Secure Headset Feed: Hawk 12:10AM

Lt Hawk approaches Pt Owl who is posted by one of the large glass windows. Pt Owl seems to be scanning the surroundings.

Lt H: "Any unfriendly movement?"

Pt O: "No ma'am, but I've been thinking..."

Lt H: "That doesn’t sound good."

Pt O: "Intel said hosts with the Needles hunt using mostly heat and scent, right?"

Lt H: "Initial reports concluded as much."

Pt O: "Well ma'am, we've got a hell of a lot of heat and BO starting to amass in this store."

Lt H (Broadcasting): "Eagle, respond."

Pt E (Broadcasting): "This is Eagle, I copy."

Lt H (Broadcasting): "Eagle, I'm going to need you to form a defensive perimeter a half block out from the store. I want you to take some of the extra cars we have in the parking lot and light them on fire at four points around the perimeter. Over."

Pt E (Broadcasting): "Understood. Over and out."

Lt H: "That should help. Owl, I want you on the roof. Cover Eagle. After the fires are lit, if you spot any Needles, you call 'em out. Any late stage 2 that you acquire, you're green lit for kill shots."

Pt O: "Yes ma'am."

Pt Owl begins to turn and head for the door. Before he gets very far, a call over the secure broadcast frequency causes him to pause.

Sgt B (Broadcasting): "This is Buzzard, does anyone read? Over!"

Lt H (Broadcasting): "This is Hawk, I copy. Report."

Sgt B (Broadcasting): "We are locked down at the end of (Redacted) St! We're receiving heavy hostility from multiple Needle hosts. I count at least a dozen stage 2's! I've got survivors here and we've no form of evac. We need backup, now!"

Lt H (Broadcasting): "We'll be there soon, Sgt. Hold your ground. Over and out."

Pt Owl begins to ready his rifle and gear.

Lt H: "I need you here, Owl." (Broadcasting) "You too, Eagle. Carry on with your current objective. Part of our orders are to protect and safeguard any survivors we come across. Over."

Pt E (Broadcasting): "Understood, ma'am. Over."

Pt Owl nods to Lt Hawk and heads to the back of the building. Lt Hawk begins to move towards the front of the store and Pt Sparrow, waiting near the doors. Before she reaches Sparrow, PO Crowe steps from a group of survivors to intercept Lt Hawk.

PO C: "Lt, I overheard your radio transmission. I want to go with you."

Lt Hawk walks around PO Crowe and continues towards Pt Sparrow.

Lt H: "Not an option, officer."

PO C: "Lt, ma'am, I'd be an asset to you and your team. I grew up in this town. I know it's layout and it's people. I've also dealt with these things a few times now. I know how to stop them."

Lt Hawk and PO Crowe arrive at the doors where Pt Sparrow is waiting. Hawk stops to turn to Crowe.

Lt H: "Officer--"

PO C: "Crowe."

Lt H: "Crowe, I don't doubt your capabilities or your reasons for wanting to help, but this is over your head. With all due respect, if you come with us, you'll only get in the way."

PO C: "Ma'am, all due respect... you don't know shit about my capabilities. This is my town and my people. I will do whatever it takes to protect them. I'm not going to get in your way. Hell, I may just end up saving your ass."

Pt S: "Bloody hell, this one has grit, doesn't he? Maybe you should let him tag along, mum. After all, his name is Crowe. He's already a bird, like one of us."

Lt Hawk is silent for approximately 0:00:08 before finally responding.

Lt H: "It's your funeral, Crowe. Load up."

PO Crowe smiles at Lt Hawk and follows Pt Sparrow as they exit the store and head towards the bus. Lt Hawk stays behind to address the crowd of survivors.

Lt H: "Listen up, everyone. My crew is going to make a run and bring back more survivors. I need everyone to stay here and remain calm and as quiet as possible."

A survivor speaks up from the crowd.

S: "You're leaving us here alone?"

Lt H: "No, I have two of my best men keeping guard. You may not see them, but trust me when I say they're there. And until one of them or myself returns here, you're all to listen to anything Dr Pavell has to say."

Lt Hawk motions to the Dr who is helping a wounded white female. Dr Pavell looks up in surprise as her name is mentioned, but then rises for everyone to see her and seems to accept her new responsibilities.

Lt Hawk turns and exits the building. She enters the bus, Pt Sparrow at the driver's seat and PO Crowe sitting two seats behind and checking his sidearm. Lt Hawk sits opposite of Crowe as Pt Sparrow begins to drive the bus out of the grocery store parking lot.

Article VO3-03C1: Secure Headset Feed: Sparrow 12:18AM

Pt Sparrow drives the bus at an average speed of 40mph, navigating through town towards the southeast. After approximately 0:04:13 of driving, a dark figure quickly walks into the road. The headset camera registers a CBV01 host in late stage 1. Pt Sparrow does not deviate from the road and elects to run over the subject. The bus slightly lurches upward as it passes over the body.

Lt H: “What was that?”

Pt S: “Needles, mum. Stage 1. Just walked right in front of the bus.”

PO C: “Look, there’s more.”

Article VO3-03C2: Secure Headset Feed: Hawk 12:19AM

Lt Hawk looks out a bus window and footage shows three CBV01 hosts walking along the side of the road. They seem to show no interest in the passing bus. Lt Hawk turns to the windows on the opposite side. Footage registers two more CBV01 hosts exhibiting the same behavior and heading south along the road.

Lt H: “Where are they headed?”

PO C: “Looks like the same direction we’re going.”

Article VO3-03D1: Secure Headset Feed: Sparrow 12:22AM

Pt Sparrow's personal feed eventually registers the neighborhood that Sgt Buzzard detailed in his distress call. The cul-de-sac is recognized as the same from Article VO3-03A1. The area is now in even more disarray at this point. There are multiple car wrecks, most accumulated near the end of the cul-de-sac. One of the two story homes is on fire and it is beginning to spread towards another home. There are multiple CBV01 hosts scattered about the area, most of them wandering frantically, seemingly attempting to acquire targets and discern them from the other heat and scent signatures. At the far end of the street, there are two survivors running from two stage 1 and one stage 2 host, being chased towards the house at the end of the cul-de-sac.

Pt S: "Mum, three bogies at 10 o'clock!"

Article VO3-03D2: Secure Headset Feed: Hawk 12:22AM

Lt Hawk quickly unlatches and knocks open the small escape door on the ceiling of the bus. She stands on the backs of two chairs as she rises up from the open hatch and readies her P90. She fires seven rounds at the targets, hitting the trailing two CBV01 hosts. The first five shots seem to connect, putting the two trailing hosts down. The last two shots appear to land on the rear end of a parked car just as the survivors and the CBV01 host run behind it.

Lt H: "Shit. One untagged!"

Lt Hawk's headset dips down for a moment to register PO Crowe leaning out one of the bus windows. He quickly levels his side arm and fires two shots. There is a small gap between cars to form a clear shot, but both rounds connect with the last host, one apparently striking the spine. The last host collapses face first into the sidewalk and the two survivors escape towards the house at the end of the street. Lt Hawk lowers down back into the bus. She turns to PO Crowe who offers a hesitant smile and a 'thumbs-up'.

Lt H: "Nice shooting, Crowe."

Article VO3-03D3: Secure Headset Feed: Sparrow 12:23AM

Pt Sparrow's feed shows the bus come to a bracing halt just before colliding with a row of wrecked vehicles. The home at the end of the street is approximately a block away at this point, and the road is littered with debris and wreckage.

Pt S: "Mum, we may have a problem here."

There is gunfire emanating from the home at the end of the cul-de-sac, and most of the CBV01 subjects are beginning to rush towards the house. The gunfire from the house seems to be concentrated on the approaching hosts, however few of the CBV01 subjects are being effected. Either the caliber of the gunfire is too light or the shots are not connecting with the brain or spinal column.

At this moment, two CBV01 hosts slam against the right side of the bus. One of the hosts appears to be a late stage 2. Before anyone has a moment to react, another loud slamming noise is registered from the roof of the bus. A large dent forms in the ceiling of the bus just above Lt Hawk. Hawk immediately ducks down low in the middle of the bus isle, just in time to miss the 2ft long protrusions as they puncture the roof of the bus and jut downwards.

Article VO3-03D4: Secure Headset Feed: Hawk 12:24AM

Lt Hawk rolls along the isle a few feet to get clear of the protrusions. She remains on her back, facing upwards as she fires her P90 upwards and through the ceiling. A scream can be heard from a CBV01 host as blood quickly begins to trickle down through the bullet holes in the metal.

One of the subjects on the side of the bus launches a burst of spikes through the glass of one of the windows. PO Crowe ducks his head down, just missing the flurry of launched spikes by approximately 2 inches. Crowe slumps back in his seat with a loud thud and fires multiple shots through the window in rapid fire. The glass shatters and explodes even more as the shots pierce the subject's torso and neck, but do not kill the host.

There is more loud banging and thudding from the back of the bus. Lt Hawk pans her headset quickly to the back and there appears to be approximately four more CBV01 hosts attempting to force entry through the back emergency door. One of the hosts thrashes against the glass, cracks already quickly forming.

Lt H: "Private, clear me a line to that house!"

Article VO3-03D5: Secure Headset Feed: Sparrow 12:25AM

Pt Sparrow jams the bus into reverse. She turns behind her seat as she depresses the gas pedal. The subjects to the rear of the bus are plowed over as the back of the vehicle lurches up. Pt Sparrow drives backwards for approximately 100ft before turning back around and quickly switching gears to 1st. She accelerates quickly and gains a massive amount of momentum. The bus collides with at least three of the vehicles wrecked or abandoned in the street. The CBV01 hosts attached to the side are crushed against a large van and leave a large, visible smear of blood and tissue along the side.

The bus reaches a speed of approximately 48mph before it plows through the last two cars on the lawn of the home at the end of the cul-de-sac. There are three more CBV01 hosts on the lawn, two of which are run under the bus while the third is struck by the side of the bus and launched out of camera range. The bus comes crashing through the garage door, destroying the foundation of the garage and causing half of it to collapse around the front of the vehicle.

Article VO3-03D6: Secure Headset Feed: Hawk 12:26AM

There is approximately 0:00:16 of silence and almost no movement as the dust and debris of the garage settles. Finally, Lt Hawk's camera registers movement as she gets up from a bus seat.

Lt H: "Sound off!"

Pt S: "Sparrow. Absolutely buggered, but active."

PO C: "Crowe... I'm in one piece, I think."

Lt H: "Then off your asses and get moving."

Lt Hawk opens to the door to the bus, glass and debris tumbling out of the way. She exits the bus and is followed closely by PO Crowe and Pt Sparrow. There is a juvenile CBV01 stage 1 host banging on the door from the garage to the house, initially oblivious to Crowe and the FRT members in the garage. Once Lt Hawk begins to come within a few feet, the subject whirls around and begins to charge Lt Hawk. Hawk levels her Chem-Launcher rifle quickly and fires a shot directly into the face of the subject. The CBV01 juvenile host is knocked backwards and into a bookshelf, breaking it nearly in half.

The juvenile host convulses on the floor, clawing at the (Redacted) compound as it begins to solidify to an extremely adhesive goo-like state. (Redacted) compound was originally created for Incident VO-001 and was hastily modified by R&D Team Archimedes at the Lab Department of Site 16. The compound uses (Redacted) to eliminate any foreign bodies and temporarily but drastically increase white blood cells and metabolism in order to heal damaged tissue.

Crowe and the FRT proceed past the juvenile host. Lt Hawk removes her HK pistol and fires three rounds, one into each of the door's hinges. She then kicks the door completely off of the frame and forcefully enters the home. Headset audio registers shouting, heavy commotion, and gunfire from somewhere in the home. It also registers multiple CBV01 stage 2 host screaming ‘ability’.

The group rushes through the home and eventually comes upon a large stair case leading to the second floor. There are five CBV01 subjects frantically attempting to climb over a large mass of furniture and assorted objects, forming a makeshift barrier between the upstairs and downstairs. Three of the hosts are stage 2. One subject is advanced to the final phases, launching 2ft long spikes upstairs. There is a small group of survivors, firing weapons and throwing heavy objects from behind inadequate cover. Pt Falcon can be seen among three other survivors, tightly packed at the top of the stairs. They have apparently held the CBV01 forces at the bottom floor, but the condition of the home clearly showed signs the survivors had lost substantial ground.

Lt Hawk and Pt Sparrow open fire on the three hosts near the bottom of the stairs. One is immediately killed while the other two take multiple gunshots but are not eliminated. They quickly turn towards the FRT members and Crowe, and the stage 2 launches a wide spread of spikes at them. The group ducks back into the kitchen just before the subject fires its spikes, Sparrow and Hawk on one side of the archway and Crowe on the other. They manage to find cover behind the archway walls just as the spikes penetrate the plaster around them.

Article VO3-03D7: Secure Headset Feed: Sparrow 12:29AM

The sound of CBV01 stage 2 screaming and hurried footsteps are registered by audio, quickly approaching the group. Lt Hawk grabs Pt Sparrow and quickly pulls her back and behind the Lt. Lt Hawk then backs them up behind the refrigerator, knocking it over against the large kitchen island counter, creating an obstacle between them and the approaching CBV01 hosts. A stage 1 and stage 2 CBV01 host come running into the kitchen, acquiring Hawk and Sparrow first. They charge towards them, colliding with the refrigerator. The stage 2 host extends her protrusions towards Hawk and Sparrow, but the host appears to be in the early phases of stage 2, and has not yet acquired the ability to launch spikes.

PO C: “Hey!”

PO Crowe throws a large skillet across the kitchen and it strikes the stage 1 host in the base of the skull, smashing his face into the refrigerator. The host falls to the floor, presumably dead from a broken neck. The stage 2 host spins around and screams at Crowe before rushing around the kitchen island towards him. Crowe begins to retreat, and just as the stage 2 host clears the corner and comes within optimal line-of-sight with Hawk and Sparrow they open fire. Approximately 18 rounds are fired from both Hawk and Sparrow’s P90s, and seemingly all of them connect, eliminating the subject.

Hawk, Sparrow, and Crowe rush back towards the staircase. As they approach, only one stage 2 CBV01 host remains active. The subject is near the top of the staircase and pushing against a large cabinet that is being stressed nearly to breaking. Behind it is a small clutter of debris and it is being held up by Pt Falcon and two other survivors. The subject is shoving himself and his spikes through the debris and closer to Falcon and the survivors.

Lt H: "Sparrow, Chem-Launcher! Now!"

Lt Hawk and Pt Sparrow both pull up their Chem-Launchers and fire two connecting shots. (Redacted) compound cannot perform its secondary function on Stage 2 CBV01 hosts and its primary function is severely hindered by the resilience of CBV01 at this stage. The compound does combat the virus and cause severe damage, however. The chemical reaction from the compound interacting with CBV01 causes extreme heat from the molecular friction, basically burning the subject from within the bloodstream.

The male CBV01 stage 2 host convulses and screams, rolling down the stairs and causing new fractures adding to his already very fractured body. He slams against the wall at the bottom of the stairs, but does not remain stationary. The subject crawls on all appendages towards Hawk and Sparrow at an alarming speed. The FRT members fire another two shots.

The MK3 Chem Launchers are the most effective model yet, however the rate of fire is still low. Time between shots is 2 seconds in optimal situations.

The two Chem-Launcher projectiles strike the CBV01 subject on the back and shoulder. The shots faze the subject for a brief moment, but do not stop it. It continues charging forward, the red protrusions on it's back flexing down and towards Hawk and Sparrow. At this moment, headset audio registers PO Crowe from just behind Hawk and Sparrow.

PO C: "Coming through!"

Article VO3-03D8: Secure Headset Feed: Hawk 12:30AM

Lt Hawk and Pt Sparrow immediately make way as PO Crowe rushes in between them. He holds a large aerosol can, presumably taken from the kitchen, and a lighter held in front of the nozzle. Crowe flicks the lighter on and sprays the can directly towards the approaching subject. The aerosol produces a large burst of white flame and the very flammable (Redacted) compound catches fire and sets the subject ablaze. The stage 2 host stops in its advance and screams as it frantically whirls in place. Pt Falcon quickly descends the stairs and joins Lt Hawk and Pt Sparrow as they fire multiple rounds into the subject. After approximately 9 rounds, the subject stops convulsing and the FRT members hold their fire.

Pt F: "Ma'am, always happy to have you save my ass. Who's this?"

Lt H: "This is officer Crowe. He volunteered to give us backup, and he's actually pretty good at it."

Lt Hawk slaps PO Crowe on the shoulder and he offers a smile to Hawk then Falcon. Falcon laughs.

Pt F: "Hey, your funeral right?"

Lt Hawk chuckles so low audio barely registers it.

Lt H: "My words, exactly."

Lt Hawk begins to head upstairs with PO Crowe closely behind and Pt Sparrow and Pt Falcon pausing for a moment at the bottom of the stairs.

Article VO3-03D9: Secure Headset Feed: Falcon 12:31AM

Pt Falcon closely watches Pt Sparrow as she begins to head up the stairs.

Pt F: “There’s my little Sparrow, you are a sight for sore eyes.”

Pt S: “You’re lucky I don’t sock you in your eye, you cheeky little shit. You lot had me worried nearly half to death.”

Pt F: “See, you were worried about me. Just another sign of your love, Sparrow. I don’t know why you have to deny it the way you do.”

Pt S: “You should be so lucky.”

Article VO3-03D10: Secure Headset Feed: Hawk 12:31AM

Lt Hawk leads the group up the stairs and over and around the debris. The members pass a few survivors who seem tired and haggard, but grateful to see more members of the FRT. As the team rounds the corner into the upstairs hallway, Sgt Buzzard is registered in a group of survivors near the end of the hall. He is standing by a window, his P90 aimed out and downwards. When he notices Lt Hawk, he smiles and approaches.

Sgt B: "Thank fucking Christ. Ma'am, am I glad to see you."

Lt H: "Sit-rep, Sgt."

Sgt B: "We were patrolling for survivors and signs of heavy concentration of Needles. We found both. The truck we were in would be one of those wrecks you plowed through. We got turned over and had to retreat to this house. The needles have been trying to get at us like we're going out of style. We're locked down tight here, completely surrounded by mostly Stage 2's. And your bus..."

Sgt Buzzard motions to the window he was standing at a moment ago. Hawk and Buzzard move to the window. Lt Hawk's visual feed registers the school bus she arrived in, half of the vehicle crashed into the mostly destroyed garage. The bus is now being swarmed by approximately 7 CBV01 hosts, at least three of which are Stage 2. One of the subjects lies motionless atop the roof closest to the window, presumably eliminated earlier by Sgt Buzzard.

Lt H: "Damn, that was fast. We need an evac plan, and now."

PO C: "Davidson!"

PO Crowe is registered by Headset audio feed. Lt Hawk turns to register PO Davidson, crouched in a dark corner of hallway with a shotgun in his lap. PO Crowe is approaching him quickly. Lt Hawk turns back to the window after motioning for Falcon and Sparrow to join her.

Article VO3-03E1: Police Radio 12:34AM

The conversation between PO Crowe and PO Davidson is not registered by any visual feed, but both POs radios are still locked in broadcast mode.

PO C: "Davidson! Man, what the hell happened? (Redacted), are you ok?"

There is 0:00:10 of silence.

PO C: "Davidson... where is (Redacted) and the baby?"

PO D: "I tried, Crowe. I ... I saw her. She had (Redacted) and there was so much blood. He wasn't moving... my little boy, he wasn't moving."

PO C: "Jesus, Davidson … I'm so sorry."

There is approximately 0:01:23 of silence.

Article VO3-03F1: Secure Headset Feed: Hawk 12:36AM

Lt Hawk positions herself at the edge of the crowd, at the top of the stairs.

Lt H: “Everyone, listen up! We need to get out of here now, before that’s no longer an option. My team and I are going to clear a path to the bus in the garage and you’re all going to stay close behind us. Do not to stop until you’re in the vehicle. Everyone get ready and wait for my signal.”

Lt Hawk turns and heads to the window at the end of the hall. Pt Sparrow and Sgt Buzzard head to the top of the stairs and begin to gather the survivors together. Pt Falcon is at the window, waiting for Hawk.

Lt H: “Alright, Pt. Are you ready for this?”

Pt F: “Yes ma’am. Just have to distract over half a dozen needles that want to kill me and suck out all my blood. No sweat.”

Lt H: “Do you have a plan at all?”

Pt F: “Making a lot of noise. Shooting them. Maybe some harsh language?”

PO Davidson steps from behind Lt Hawk and towards the window.

PO D: “I’ll join you. This is my street. The house next door has a work shed with a lot of propane in it.”

Lt H: “I’m sorry officer, but you’re not--”

Lt Hawk is cut off by PO Crowe who joins the group.

PO C: “No, Davidson, you’re getting in that bus.”

PO D: “Crowe, you don’t have to protect me. I know what I’m doing.”

PO C: “Yeah, you want to go down to Ethan (Redacted)’s shed and blow yourself to hell. I’m still your commanding officer and you’re still a dumb ass rookie. Now get the hell on that bus.”

PO Davidson shows signs of frustration, but soon leaves the window and rejoins the group of survivors. PO Crowe readies his sidearm and rapidly increases his breathing rate for a moment.

Pt F: “You good to go, Crow?”

PO C: “Not even a little. Let’s do it.”

Lt H: “Good luck, gentlemen. As soon as you clear that bus of needles, you have 3 minutes to do what you have to and get back on board.”

Lt Hawk opens the window, leans out, and begins to fire out in short bursts, knocking one host down and eliminating another. She quickly pivots back inside and Pt Falcon and PO Crowe exit the window.

Article VO3-03F2: Secure Headset Feed: Falcon 12:39AM

PO Crowe takes lead, running along the garage rooftop and towards the edge. Pt Falcon follows closely behind. A Stage 1 CBV01 host leaps from the bus to the roof approximately 5ft in front of Crowe. PO Crowe fires a single round into the subjects left shin and sends her rolling down off the roof.

PO C: “Hey assholes! Come and get it!”

Pt Falcon pans his view right and headset visual registers multiple CBV01 hosts turn their attention to the two men.

Pt F: “That’s right, hot fresh blood, over here!”

PO Crowe slides off the edge of the roof and over the homes backyard fence. Falcon rushes to the edge and sees another Stage 1 host running towards Crowe, who is still coming to a stand.

Pt Falcon leaps off the rooftop, firing his HK pistol downwards and striking the host twice. The shots are not fatal, but are enough to stagger the host just long enough before Pt Falcon lands on the subjects shoulders. The Stage 1 host collapses to the ground as Falcon rolls away and fires two more rounds into the subject’s head, eliminating it.

Pt Falcon quickly gets to his feet and joins Crowe as they rush through the neighboring backyard. PO Crowe kicks in the door to the large shed and the two barge in. Visibility is poor, and Pt Falcon activates headset night vision. His headset audio also registers multiple CBV01 screams and a commotion sound that seems to begin rising. The two quickly begin to search through the three short isles of lawn and home care equipment and supplies.

PO C: “Here!”

Pt Falcon rushes over to the back corner of the shed where PO Crowe is standing over 4 large canisters of propane.

Pt F: “Jackpot.”

PO C: “Can you rig three of these together to blow at once?”

Pt F: “Yes I can. What about number 4?”

PO Crowe picks up one of the canisters and heads towards the door to the shed.

Pt Sparrow guides the last survivor into the bus as Lt Hawk leads up the rear of the group. Sparrow pans to look down the bus isle. Sgt Buzzard is in the back of the bus, looking out and up from the back window.

Sgt B: “Whatever those boys are doing, it’s working. All the needles around us are hauling ass to that backyard.”

At this moment, headset audio registers a gunshot quickly followed by a loud explosion and an undetermined number of CBV01 host screams. A few survivors yelp and the group shows increased signs of worry.

Pt S: “Shite! What the hell is Falcon doing?”

Lt H: “Sparrow, pull this bus out of this god damn garage and face us towards the street. It’s time to get the hell out of here.”

Pt S: “Mum, Falcon is--”

Lt H: “That’s an order, Sparrow!”

Pt S: “Mum!”

Pt Sparrow slams the bus into reverse and pulls out of the garage, causing the remainder of the structure to collapse. She quickly spins the bus around and slides across the front lawn of the neighboring home. She comes to a stop facing the street as her headset camera registers multiple CBV01 subjects in the area advancing on their position.

Lt H: “One minute and we’re gone.”

At this moment, headset audio registers a massive explosion and a bright flash of light. Headset visuals shake substantially for a moment and everyone on the bus braces themselves. Some of the survivors scream as the bus shakes for a short moment. The explosion passes and debris and smoke litter the area outside the vehicle.

Approximately 0:00:18 after the second and larger explosion, two loud impact sounds are registered hitting the back of the bus roof.

Lt H: “Sparrow, hit the gas, now!”

Article VO3-03F4: Secure Headset Feed: Buzzard 12:42AM

Sgt Buzzard rushes to the roof emergency exit hatch and climbs halfway out as the bus begins to speed off the lawn and into the street. Sgt Buzzard’s headset video registers PO Crowe and Pt Falcon crouched low on the back of the bus. Sgt Buzzard fully exit’s the hatch but stays close.

Sgt B: “C’mon!”

Crowe and Falcon head low and cautiously towards the hatch. Sgt Buzzard assists PO Crowe into the hatch first. Buzzard turns to Falcon who is approximately 5ft away and still heading towards the hatch. Just as Pt Falcon reaches his hand outward, two large red protrusions pierce through Pt Falcon’s shoulder and face from behind. There is a brief moment of no movement before Pt Falcon slowly turns and headset visual registers a small child CBV01 host in late Stage 2 latched onto Falcon’s upper back.

Pt Falcon quickly loses footing as the juvenile host already begins to siphon his blood. The two fall off the edge of the bus as it begins to gain more speed down the neighborhood street. Sgt Buzzard watches for a few seconds longer before heading back down into the bus. He passes Crowe, who is lying down on one of the bus seats, panting heavily. Buzzard accompanies Hawk and Sparrow at the front of the bus.

Lt H: “Where’s Pt Falcon, Sgt?”

Sgt B: “KIA, ma’am.”

Pt Sparrow quickly looks up at Sgt Buzzard, her eyes already glossy. She quickly turns back to the road and says nothing.

Lt H (Broadcasting): “Owl, this is Hawk, do you read?”

Pt Owl (Broadcasting): “This is Owl. Over.”

Lt H (Broadcasting): “We’re headed back. Recovered 7 survivors and 1 FRT member. 1 member down. Over.”

Pt Owl (Broadcasting): “… Copy that. Over and out.”

End of Packet 4

I will, as always, do what it takes to continue leaking packets until the very last. Stay tuned to this space, readers and seekers. The full truth is more horrifying than you can know.
