I want to make pasta with mushroom cream sauce for several meals, how do I store it properly in the refrigerator? Cooking

I have just begun cooking seriously and eating at home this year, and I cook for 4-5 days at a time.

I want to make a simple mushroom sauce by frying mushrooms and shallots in butter, then adding cream and salt. Last time I prepared this, I mixed all of the sauce with all of the pasta and stored it in the fridge. However, the next day it was all hard and sticky. Is there any way to properly prepare/store this dish so that I can make several meals out of it without expending significant effort in preparing each individual meal? Can I store the boiled pasta and the sauce separately, and then mix them together on a plate and heat the plate in a microwave? I don't like doing dishes, so I'm trying to minimize the number of dishes I have to wash after every meal.
