GE Refrigerator Freezer coils Freezing over (having to defrost the coils once a week). appliancerepair

Hi Reddit,

I bought a GE (Model # GSS22SGPA SS) off of craigslist and realized it doesn't work as well as advertized. About once a week, I have to defrost the coils in the freezer to get cold air to the fridge.

I have replaced everything I could think of that could be the problem.

The defrost thermostat The refrigerator thermostat The main control board The defrost unit

Anyone have any ideas of what else might be the problem?? I would really appreciate the help!
