Refrigerator repairman broke our expensive fridge, what are our options? legaladvice

Hello r/legaladvice,

For months now our refrigerator has not been working properly, basically it does not get very cold in the freezer section. We have called a repairman to come check and hopefully fix the issue. Over the course of about 5~ months we would periodically call him back to fix our fridge because the same issue keeps reoccurring. He has almost replaced all the parts in the fridge and still not permanent fix. Earlier this week he found a dent in the fridge and wanted to drill into the fridge to see any damage. In doing so he managed to drill into something (can't remember now) which completely broke our fridge. Nothing is working and a lot of our groceries are spoiling. He admitted fault and said we would have to call his manager tomorrow to see what they can do.

We spoke with the manager today and he only offered us back all the payments for repairs(800$ over multiple visits). The fridge retails at 3000$ and we got it on discount for around 1500$!! So again the fridge was working perfectly fine except for the freezer not being cold enough. So not only did we pay them 800$ for nothing, they now have broken our fridge as well! Is there anything we can do? Take them to a small claims court? Any advice is appreciated! We live in Fort worth, Texas FYI if that matters.
