I have a whole chicken that's is a 2-3 days past the "sell by" date. Is it safe to eat? Cooking

Okay, so I bought this chicken around the 14th of May and it went straight in the freezer. It's "sell by" date was originally May 22. I put it in the refrigerator to defrost about a week ago. Is it still safe to eat?
