So I have made bread many times in the past and I have never had this problem before: I made pita bread last week and pretzels today.... and they both have this slight dirty water funky smell to them. The yeast I used smells ok, it’s a jar that I keep in the refrigerator. The first time I thought it was a fluke... like the bowl I used wasn’t quite clean or something... but this is the second time! Any idea what gives?
