Had a repair tech over because my refrigerator makes a noise often that I can't really describe as a low grinding sound but not quite. Anyway the tech said it was freon moving through the system and the sound could not be helped. Is this true? It's an annoying sound since the kitchen and living room are one "great room". It is a five year old GE Profile refrigerator. The noise has been happening fir more than a year. Coincidentally the compressor was replaced just before the end of the warranty period for sealed components. But the noise occurred way before that. If the sound can't be helped I will probably replace the unit so do you have any recommendations for quietest refrigerators?
