US-IL: Dryer stopped working, and is beyond repair. Question about Landlord's responsibilities and timeliness. legaladvice

So our dryer stopped working on Friday, March 25th. Landlord was notified on Saturday, March 26th. The dryer is listed in the lease as provided by the landlord.

Once it was discovered that it was beyond repair, my landlord simply said "there's no way to fix it." I'm not yet sure if he's implying that we'll now be without the dryer, or if he's planning on replacing it. My concern is that, in the past, when our refrigerator was having issues, it took him 3 years to fix it (granted, it was still WORKING, just leaking, which was causing damage to his kitchen floor).

So my question is two-fold. The way I read our lease, it sounds like he's responsible for replacing the machine if it truly is beyond repair. That being the case, is there any length of time that he needs to have this fixed or replaced by?

Language of the Lease:

A. Landlord will supply and maintain: Washing Machine, Dryer, Refrigerator, and Stove.

  • I. Tenant will keep appliances provided by landlord in good working order and shall report any malfunction to the Landlord. Any damaged sustained due to neglect or misuse by Tenant will become full responsibility of Tenant, either in the appliance repair or replacement.
