I just posted a video on YouTube that I thought you guys might be interested in. 5 Unsolved Halloween Mysteries. Here is a text summary:
Orange Socks
Orange Socks was murdered in Georgetown, TX. She was found on Halloween on the side of the interstate, she had been sexual assaulted and strangled. Henry Lee Lucas confessed to her murder and was sentenced to death. Evidence came out later suggesting he wasn't even in Texas at the time, so George W. Bush changed his sentence from death to life in prison.
Cindy Song
Cindy went to a Halloween party with two of her friends. They left at 2 am, for another friends apartment. At 4 am, they dropped her off at home. Cindy was never seen or heard from again. Her apartment did not look disturbed and the only thing missing was her purse (which contained her ID and credit cards). A couple days later a woman matching Cindy's description was seen being forced into a car in Philly, but the man hasn't been identified and Cindy hasn't been found.
David Stone
David Stone went missing on Halloween. David was deep into the New Age movement. The day of, he was seen around town looking for "The Beast" before walking into the desert. There were several mysterious clues surrounding his death. He left his car near pyramid-shaped mountains (pyramids are an important symbol in the New Age movement). Then searchers found rocks in the shape of a pyramid with a triangle drawn around them. The next day they found another pyramid of rocks, with David's watch next to it. They then found the Fibonacci Sequence written in the sand, stopping at 18 instead of 21. His family found a business card in his car and a note which read: "They think the WORD is in the safe. Six knives in Rob's room. Yous buys your tea and yous take your chances Halloween." His body was found in the dessert by two hikers, but police never determined a cause of death.
Ronald and Elizabeth
Ronald and Elizabeth were murdered in their apartment on Halloween. The part that makes their murder so mysterious is that an inmate came forward after the murder claiming that another inmate had predicted it. That in-mate? “Son of Sam” killer, David Berkowitz. He said a couple would be shot in their home and then the apartment ransacked for implicating evidence. Berkowitz claimed that Ronald had footing of a "Son of Sam" shooting that he was going to turn over to the police to avoid drug charges. However, there was no evidence found to support his claim that his cult was involved.
Nima Carter
On Halloween night, the parents of 19-month-old Nima Louise Carter placed their child inside her crib. The next morning, Nima’s parents were shocked to discover that she was missing. A month later, a group of kids were playing in an abandoned house four blocks away from the Carter home. When they opened up the house’s refrigerator, they received a horrifying shock when the decomposed body of an infant came tumbling out. The child was identified as Nima Louise Carter, who died of suffocation. A similar crime had occurred in Lawton in April 1976 when a pair of three-year-old twin sisters, Mary and Tina Carpitcher, were lured out of their home by a young woman and forcibly confined inside a refrigerator at another abandoned house. When the sisters were found two days later, Mary had suffocated, but Tina managed to survive. Tina identified her abductor as a local teenage babysitter named Jacqueline Roubideaux. However, the child’s age made her testimony unreliable and there wasn’t enough corroborating evidence to file charges at that time. Jacqueline Roubideaux eventually became a babysitter for Nima Louise Carter. She was an obvious suspect after Nima’s murder, but once again, there was no evidence to implicate her. Years later, Roubideaux was finally charged with Mary Carpitcher’s murder and given a life sentence. She died in prison of liver cancer in 2005 but never admitted to the still-unsolved murder of Nima Louise Carter.
