I'm looking for a roommate for a 1200+ sq ft 2BR 2BA apartment at the Blairs. This unit will feature a balcony, bedrooms on opposite sides of the apartment (so it feels really private), and two private bathrooms. This unit is $2200, ALL utilities included, so your rent would be about ~1100.
I've been subleasing at the Blairs here for about a year. I don't have awesome credit so I'm looking for someone that can get approved and I can lease with them. You can choose which room you want to stay in and I'm offering $100 of rent for the first 6 months. Meaning your rent would only be ~$1000 for the first six months.
This place is awesome, that's why I don't want to move. They have a 24/7 concierge that holds your packages for you and sometimes even brings them to your door. Fitness classes, a community pool, and tons of perks from the leasing office like; discounted movie tickets, free breakfast, and community events (we're all gathering to watch the boxing match this weekend in one of the clubrooms). This a pretty darn decent gym here. There's also an outdoor lounge that has a huge fireplace, TVs, outdoor seating, and stainless steel professional grills you can use whenever.
As for as the neighborhood, this is one of the best in the DMV. I should know, I grew in downtown DC. You live literally right next to a Giant grocery (where people know you by name, like Cheers!) and a 24/7 CVS right next to it for after midnight emergencies and munchies. Across the street is the Silver Spring metro station on the Red Line. There's the Silver Spring park 3 blocks away. Also, downtown Silver Spring is right next door, which gives you access to 2 movie theaters (one for indie movies, the other for mainstream ones), a Panera bread, Whole Foods, H&M, Starbucks, Chik-fil-A, American Apparel, another gym, and a bunch of other cool spots to eat, chill, and shop.
If you want to have friends over on the weekend is great because, we live across the street free city public park, which free after 7pm and free for the whole weekend. There's also a HUGE retailer parking lot behind the building as well. Parking is not hard here.
I'm a well-paid management consultant, and have been living here for some time and would rather stay in this building, although it would be a different unit.
