Troubleshooting kitchen sink GFCI tripping electricians

Hey all. My refrigerator is on the same circuit as the kitchen sink GFCI. Yesterday I woke up to a dark fridge. Puzzled for a second, I noticed the red light at the kitchen sink GFCI. I reset it and the fridge kicked on. Hoping it was a one-off, I didnt think much of it but it happened again. And then again this morning. Currently fridge is running on a different circuit and I'll see if the GFCI tripped again when I get home. In terms of troubleshooting, what would conventional wisdom be for proceeding? I'm not sure if the fridge outlet is feeding power to the GFCI or vice versa.
