ELI5: How does the cold not escape my fridge/freezer when the door is open for a few minutes? explainlikeimfive

Why is it that when I'm stocking my refrigerator and freezer with groceries, the cold doesn't escape? It's summer right now and it's been pretty hot most days. With the contrast between the heat in my house and the cold in the fridge and freezer, how does all the cold not escape when I open the door? Wouldn't all the heat in my house go into the fridge when it's open?
