Installed instant hot water heater and now kitchen faucet runs slow Plumbing

I installed a Waste King Instant Hot water heater under my kitchen sink. Purchased from Amazon

The installation instructions are here

As a note, I ran a small line off of the cold water line going to the water heater, which goes to the refrigerator. Here is a picture of the cold water line hook up. The small copper line going down is the one going to the fridge. The copper line going off to the right is the cold water line going to the hot water heater. The hook up of the water heater is otherwise as it is shown in the instructions. The silver braided line going up is the cold line to the kitchen faucet.

Now, the cold water side of the kitchen faucet runs slow. It is a single handle faucet like this. Not the exact same one, but similar with a single handle to control the hot/cold.

I pulled the aerator out and it doesn't make any difference. The hot side runs with the usual flow, but the cold side is diminished. After a couple of days of slow running, I was using the faucet and it made a "burping" sound under the sink (kind of like when air is making its way out of the pipe) and the cold side ran normally again. This lasted about a day and now it is running slow again.

Thanks in advance for any advice.
