Do power-wasting devices heat my home as efficiently as an electric heater? AskPhysics

Discounting light leakage, is there any quantitative difference between the heat generated by an electric heater, and the heat generated by, for example, a refrigerator, a power strip, or an a/c - d/c convertor?

Can we generally say that (ignoring light leakage) nothing in a house wastes electricity as long as you are also running an electric heater on a thermostat?

If not, why not?

Thanks!
