[AB] Family bought a faulty refrigerator on kijiji, guy avoiding us and refuses to give money back. legaladvice

I live in Edmonton, AB. The refrigerator was faulty from the setup, it refuses to cooldown, staying at a consistently high temperature. The man most likely knew about it, and was supposed to come pick it up today and give us our money back, but never showed up. All we have is his number. Is there anything I can do? Otherwise, my parents would lose couple hundred.
