Just go here.
HOW IT WORKS:
The spreadsheet has a list of items (dishwasher, furnace, roof, etc.) that all eventually need replacing. For each item, just fill in the date purchased, how long you expect it to last, and an estimated cost, and the spreadsheet does the rest (already done - just edit to your liking).
For example, if you bought a new refrigerator today, expect it to last 10 years, and estimate that the cost of a new one will be $1,500, the spreadsheet will track:
- how many months remain until a replacement is likely needed
- how much you need to save every month to already have enough when the life expectancy ends
The spreadsheet will do this for every item, combine to cover everything listed, and tell you what the total goal amount needs to be. It also updates itself automatically and is specific to the current date (for instance, if you say you need $1,500 in July, it will tell you to save $750 every month).
Hope to get feedback. Hope you find it useful. Enjoy!
