[CA]Security door guy at the small music venue/club I work at accidentally fired his gun shattering the glass refrigerator door exactly where I was standing 15 seconds prior, pretty shaken up. legaladvice

Basically as above.

The door guy has a gun he carries holstered on his side. He was telling a story to all the employees working, 5, and when he adjusted his shirt it got caught on the gun and fired. It shot downward into the mini freezer shattering 3 layers of glass, exactly where I was standing 15 seconds earlier before walking away. There were patrons inside the club but we (employees) are unsure they realized it was a gun that went off.

The more I'm thinking about the more shaken up I am about the situation. It would have struck my leg without a doubt.

Is this negligence on behalf of the club owner? He is aware he has a gun. The shooter admitted the gun didn't have a safety and one in the chamber and hollow-body bullets.

I'm a little freaked out to return to work if that same door guy is working now not knowing if he has the gun. I don't believe CA is an open carry state.

Thanks.

Thanks.
