Hello. This whole thing is such a mess and im looking for some advice. I lived in an apartment with my fiance and daughter, which we moved out of 2 weeks ago so that my mother and aunt could live in it. I moved to the town my college is in and my fiance moved in with her mother so we could save money(very expensive area)
So my mother and aunt decide that the apartment isnt clean to their standards and that the 250 i left them in order to hire a cleaning service wasnt enough. They claim that since we "abandoned" our stuff that it is theirs now and they can do what ever they want with it. They say that until i pay AGAIN for the backyard to be cleaned, and for the kitchen to be cleaned they will be keeping my things.
We (my mother, myself and Fiance) are all on the lease, they claim that the lease is now void as well, the reason im not sure of. They say that due to her "rudeness" my fiance is not "welcome" in the apartment anymore and we must hire movers to get our stuff. This i cant afford.
This whole things breaks my heart, they are old ladies and bitter about life in general. At this point i just want the few things i have there and be done with it. I have considered calling the local police and asking for a deputy to escort my fiance to the house because my aunt is known to be violent.
What should i do to quickly and effectively resolve this!?!?
Please help!
(p.s. the apartment was clean, things like the backyard, stove and refrigerator were dirty, but i told them that well in advance and paid for it to be remedied.)
