Howdy Redditor's, here's my story. I've been underemployed off and on since losing my job in February of 2015 (after filing my taxes found out that I grossed only $9.8k last year.) I just accepted a job offer within my current company for a management position, so I have that going for me, but unfortunately I'm still broke as a joke. I came home from work today to find out that my refrigerator decided to stop working sometime last night (assuming by the temp/thaw of everything) and spoiled the food I planned to eat until next Friday/payday. My landlord is in the process of replacing the fridge, but is not willing to help me out for the food lost. I'm planning on requesting an advance on my check Monday, but that leaves me with 4 slices of bread until then. I'm not close with any of my family since I am not a supporter of their political candidate, otherwise I would turn to them before random strangers. I plan to pay it forward as soon as I get my feet back under me financially (start new position in a couple weeks.) Thank you in advance if you're thinking of taking pity on me.
