Whirlpool Refrigerator doesn't cool in the main compartment but the freezer still works. appliancerepair

The fridge is close to twenty years old and just suddenly stopped cooling in the main compartment while the freezer is still ice cold.

Are there separate cooling systems for the freezer and the fridge?

Is it worth the time and trouble - and cost - to bother trying to fix a 20 year old fridge?
