I majored in computer science and work in IT because I've always been good with computers and technology. I find some new technologies to be so cool. But part of me wishes the world could be a little more primitive. Get rid of smartphones that force you to be contactable by phone, text, email, Skype, and social media at all times and go back to phones that could just call and text. Get rid of laptops that force you to bring work home with you. Get rid of all these appliances that have freaking WiFi built into them and just get a normal refrigerator.
Another example...my girlfriend comes from a religious family, and is religious herself, but is getting her PhD in neuroscience and working in a freaking molecular biology lab. She reads hundreds of science papers on all sorts of shit, including evolution, and is like "Yeah, this makes total sense." But of course, Christianity teaches creationism and what not.
