Hi everyone, let's talk extraction techniques! I have been experimenting with Ultrasonic extraction and Google has not exactly been my friend through this. I would love to hear if other people are achieving success with similar methods? Also if people have concerns or other related information? Thanks all, take it easy!
Here goes;
AIM: extract CBD and cannabinoids (Decarboxylated and/or Non-Decarboxylated) into Vegetable Glycerin to produce a medicinal tincture. Cannabinoid Tincture that can be taken orally or absorbed through skin for chronic pain and other medical conditions.
Equipment: Ultrasonic Cleaning Unit: 3 Litre capacity Medicinal Marijuana: 2 Oz Cured Vegetable Glycerin: 2 Kg Cheese Cloth Glassware
Method:
1. Dry and/or Decarboxylate Marijuana as desired, grind or do not grind as desired. 2. Fill Ultrasonic Cleaning Unit tank with 2 kg of VG. 3. Mix in Marijuana thoroughly 4. The longest cycle setting on the Ultrasonic cleaning units is 30 minutes. Run this cycle 10 - 20 times to achieve desired flavour/potency. Each cycle produces enough heat to warm the mixture from room temp to 60 degrees. Consecutive cycles heat the mixture up to 100 degrees. (a few hours at this temperature will increase the CBN (Couchlock) which may be undesirable. 5. Strain through cheese cloth. bottle in air tight containers. Store in refrigerator.
Anyone tried this or similar methods? How were the results? I have found the finished product to be extremely beneficial for my fibromyalgia symptoms. I take it orally daily a few times and use it as ointment on particularly painful areas. I find it truly amazing how helpful this has been for me. I haven't found this information anywhere online yet. Hoping to shed more light on this and hopefully make a difference for some people out there who may find this useful. Cheers!
