[Help] Can anyone offer and advice on this peel and stick backsplash stuff? thinking of using it in my kitchen DIY

Does anyone have any experience with these peel and stick backsplash kits? Particularly, I'm thinking of using this stuff in my kitchen.

I have just finished painting my entire kitchen, and I thought while I had everything cleaned and freshly painted I might add some backsplash. I'm on a tight budget, though. My house is nothing fancy (it was very much built on the cheap), but if I can add some potential "oh I like that!" factor should we decide to put it on the market in the near future (which we are considering) at a reasonable price, I'd like to. But if it's going to look cheap and tacky, I'll just leave it painted as is.

Also, I had originally planned to just do a backsplash behind the stove and sink, but considering that will be such a short space (I'll post a picture in the comments) I'm wondering now if I would have to do the entire wall under the cabinets starting at the left cabinet and going all the way around to the refrigerator. Any opinions?
