Homemade Biscuit Cooking

  • Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 C Flour
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Baking Powder
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 3/4 C Unsalted Butter
  • 1 C Milk
  • Instructions
  • 1. In a large bowl combine flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder
  • 2. Mix with a whisk
  • 3. Cut cold butter into small pieces and add to flour mixture
  • 4. With your fingertips work butter into flour and form small pebbles
  • 5. Once mixed add milk and thoroughly combine The dough will be a little sticky
  • 6. Let dough rest in refrigerator four about 5 minutes
  • 7. Bring dough out of fridge and knead a few times on a flour dusted table top
  • 8. Press dough out with hands until it is about 1/2 inch thick
  • 9. Using a glass or round cookie cutter cut biscuits Press straight down do not move side to side
  • This will help dough rise in oven
  • 10. Place biscuits onto parchment lined cookie sheet
  • 11. Reform scrap dough to make more biscuits
  • 12. Brush melted butter on top of biscuits
  • Recipe will make 8-10 biscuits
  • 13. Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes
