If I had two identical containers, both the same shape, thickness, size, and filled with the same contents, which would stay cold longer, metal or glass?
If I took these containers, put them in a regular refrigerator for the same amount of time until they were the same temperature all the way through, then took them out and sat them in the sun, which would be cooler and more thirst quenching for longer?
Back story: I sell beer for a living, and today, a coworker told a customer that a can of beer stays cold longer than a bottle. I knew this to be false based solely on my personal experience. I corrected them afterwards, and said glass stays colder. Their justification was that the can gets cold faster, so it stays cold longer. (No, I don't understand it either) Anyway, I know that part of the reason the glass is colder for a longer time is that it's thicker. If we removed this variable, would it still be the case?
