I made banana pudding with cook and serve jello pudding. I poured the hot pudding over the bananas and wafers. Chilled in the refrigerator to set. The bananas were awful! Hard, starchy, and bitter. The bananas were ripe, but not banana bread ripe, just medium ripe. Was this The problem or something else? They actually gave the surrounding pudding a bitter taste. What did I do wrong?
