I'm starting the Sinclair Method tonight stopdrinking

Since my relapse, I've barely been able to get any significant clean time--no more than two or three days, six is my current record. As a result, I went to the doctor to try to get something to curb my cravings as Campral alone isn't cutting it. I initially wanted the monthly Vivitrol injection but instead left with a prescription for oral Naltrexone at 50mg. When I was researching its effectiveness I got reacclimated with the Sinclair Method. (If you want to know more about it, just do a quick search; other SDers have explained it better than I could). I'm really hoping this is my ticket back to sobriety.

For the record, I'm not interested in moderation--I'm taking this route in hopes of increasing my motivation to become abstinent again. I'm active in therapy, AA, and NA but there's no fucking way I'm going to make progress if I'm still drunk every other day. As soon as I finish typing this up I'm going to take a pill, set a timer, and see how far I can get into the fourteen beers in my refrigerator.

Honestly, I'm nervous. I'm not worried about side effects or blackouts...I'm nervous that it'll work. I'm nervous about how it'll feel if I drink three beers and say "that's enough. I'm good for tonight." Ha, if that's not the mind of an alcoholic then I don't know what is!

If you've got experience with the Sinclair Method I'd love to hear your thoughts.
