I was at one of the fancier coffee shops in the area today and I asked the guy if he had any advice for cold brew as I was starting to experiment with it. He told me he would add some boiling water for a couple minutes and then ice it down and add cold water and let it sit in the refrigerator for 12-14 hours.
I haven't seen this method for cold brew before and I thought the whole point was the lack of heat created a different experience. Anyone try something like this? If so how did it turn out and how much/how long did you add the hot water?
